Broads of the Week — 12/17/11 Edition

It’s not hard to find amazing commentary writing by women around the web, which is why it surprises me that many mainstream outlets claim they don’t have more women on their rosters because, you know, ladies just aren’t writing it!

So I’m happy to highlight these amazing writers in this week’s edition of Broads of the Week:

Jennie Baird has taken on a project to examine what’s really going on with the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has resulted in a variety of great posts including one entitled, “Occupy Wall Street: Is Griping Good Enough?”

The always fabulous and insightful Julie Marsh writes about “The Republican Steamroller.”

Faiqa at Native Born blog takes on the reason why Lowe’s pulled its advertising from the show “American Muslim.”

Tracey at Sweetney blog gave us all an amazing post about reaching out to one of her reader’s about that reader’s struggle with anorexia.

And with so many amazing women doing notable things in this world, I’m stumped as to why only one woman — a princess — made the short list for TIME’s Person of the Year award.
