Hillary Watch: The Road to 2016!

Since so many people are fascinated with whether or not Hillary Clinton — former First Lady, former U.S. Senator and former Secretary of State — is going to take another run at the White House in 2016, The Broad Side is launching a new feature called “Hillary Watch: The Road to 2016” to keep you up to date on all the “is she or isn’t she” scuttlebutt!

Why not some serious commentary about whether she could be the first woman President? Well, we’ll have that, too.  But from a cultural standpoint, it’s interesting to see what various outlets are writing, what photos are being taken, and, yes, whether there is anything any of us can discern from the political tea leaves.

For our first installment, we bring you this official White House image of President Obama having a lunch salad with Hillary!

Obama Hillary salads

Hmmm.  What could it mean? Supposedly they were just “catching up.”  Call me a cynic, but with the current state of things in the world, I’d say POTUS doesn’t really have time for chit-chat over a summer salad. But I do have to wonder — where’s the iced tea?

More likely they were having beer/wine and decided not to include those in the photo.
