If It’s Still the “Economy, Stupid”, Why Are So Many Lawmakers Focused on Our Lady Parts?

pregnant stomachIf all those politicians ran for election and re-election in 2012 on fixing the economy or creating more jobs or making public education better for our kids, why are they SOOOOO focused on passing restrictive laws about our lady parts?

Ever since the 2012 election, there has been a widespread effort in many states to make it virtually impossible for women to get abortions, preventive care and birth control? Think Texas, North Carolina, Mississippi, and so many more states where lawmakers seem virtually unconcerned about families trying to put food on the table or keeping our children safe on the streets, and have shifted into overdrive to either take women back in time with bad “jokes” about wire hangers, or to an unthinkable future that was once imagined by Margaret Atwood.

Don’t believe us? Watch this video from Rachel Maddow and then be sure to share this post widely with friends who think, “Oh that could never happen in our country”:

Remember, this isn’t just about abortion. This is about access to other health services, including access to birth control. America becoming more like Gilead every day.
