International Women’s Day: I Am a Full Woman

multicultural handsSometimes you get a letter or an E-mail out of the blue, that contains an offer so wonderful and generous, you can’t pass it up.

On International Women’s Day, there are so many things about women to be celebrated and discussed and debated. But one thing that hit home with the amazing video you are about to watch that features the beautiful photography of Linda Wolf is that we can all be full women in our own way. And that we are all beautiful on our own way — a lesson I am often reminded of by my wonderful friend Karen Walrond.

When I opened my E-mail this morning, I had a message from Linda Wolf offering to share her “I Am a Full Woman” montage with the readers of The Broad Side.  This is five minutes you will be glad you spent at your computer.  So grab your cup of coffee or tea, or whatever beverage you grab when you need just a short moment for yourself during the day, and enjoy.

Thank you, Joanne, for spontaneously, immediately, lovingly responding to my offer! My heart aches for women to be recognized and treated with the respect we all deserve, men and women and for a world where compassion is the leading way…

Linda, thank you for offering and for allowing us to share this amazing piece of art. I think it will resonate with many women today and for many days!

Brava, Linda & Joanne for giving all daughters and women this gift today! Thank you.

I feel so honored that the work of bringing my chant “Full Woman” out of a healing dream and into the world to offer healing to other women is still bearing fruit. Yes, may the resonance continue!

Rachel, thank you so much for the chant, too! The totality of the piece is so amazing. I cannot wait to share it with my 7th grade daughter!

Wonderful! Wish I had seen something like this when I was in 7th grade. Please let us know her response. Thanks so much, Joanne.

Absolutely beautiful…thank you! As I watched, I kept thinking how we (I) only show certain angles in photos, yet how beautiful each individual reflection is, from all angles, so this gift opened something within..I hadn’t known was “closed”. Thank you!

LOVE this. Thank you for sharing, my sweet friend. Needed this today–I didn’t want it to end.

wow – thank you!! a great lift to my day. cannot wait to share this with both my daughter (12) and my son (15)–esp. after my son received the SI swimsuit issue in the mail a few weeks ago. This is such a dramatically different and far more moving and genuine representation of women’s beauty than he typically sees. I talk it to death with him, but a picture (or a beautiful montage of them!) speaks a thousand words.
