Shonda Rhimes’ Rules for Better Living

shonda-rhimes-dartmouth-commencement-leadThe blogosphere abounds with lists and tips for better living. We suspect lots of people are like us — we have a love/hate relationship with those things. Many of those articles are link-bait and ultimately a waste of time; we thought we might learn something or get a laugh, but then we end up being disappointed with whatever “wisdom” was being shared.

Of course, there are always exceptions. And when you see something shared by a friend you respect, it’s worth a small gamble to see if there is a takeaway in a link that might make you smile or nod your head or want to share it with others yourself.

And that’s what we found with this video of Shonda Rhimes, the creator of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.” Rhimes’ tips to recent college graduates are true pearls of wisdom. Each one of us should have at least one or two of her pieces of advice taped up on the wall next to our desk or computer station or on the fridge. Trust us, they will help you get through a challenging day.
