“We Should All Be Feminists”: Getting to Know Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

St/adichie“Feminists are women who cannot find husbands.”

Or, according to author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, maybe not!

In her recent TEDx talk, Adichie, who is also the newst voice to grace Beyonce’s feminist manifesto album on the track “Flawless”, talks about experience becoming a feminist, and focuses on differences of what feminism is or is not in her native Africa.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that feminism is perceived differently by women in countries that aren’t the U.S., even though high profile American feminists frequently argue there is only one feminist truth and often knock down those who dare to disagree.

That doesn’t hold back Adichie from speaking her own truth, which ought to be respected by all feminists, no matter how they define the idea:
