It’s OK to look funny if you’re a male comedian. But, traditionally, women in comedy have had a Catch 22 to deal with — if you were too pretty, people worried you weren’t going to be funny. And if you were funny, was it OK to be “too” attractive?
Linda Mizejewski, a professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University, has studied women in comedy and says things have changed for female comedians, and we have something a little unexpected to thank for that!
